Volunteer Opportunities
Mission Statement of Pregnancy Choices LifeCare Center
We welcome anyone needing pregnancy services; we speak truth about life issues, encourage healthy personal choices and offer practical help to families.
We cannot operate this ministry without volunteer staff members who are willing to reach out and love the women who come through our doors. Volunteer staff is the heartbeat of this ministry, and we're looking for (at least) one more. It might be you-if you have the qualifications.
What you can do as a volunteer
- Pray.
- Serve as a volunteer counselor, receptionist, or office volunteer.
- Plan a workday for your youth or women's group at one of the centers.
- Host a baby shower at your church.
- Speak at your church or civic group about the sanctity of life and the work of
Pregnancy Choices LifeCare Center.
- Serve as a church liaison for our baby bottle fundraiser or walk for life.
- Organize the Sanctity of Life Sunday activities in your church.
- Volunteer your computer and organizational skills at our administrative office.
- Ask your pastor to preach on the sanctity of life and other related topics.
- Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.
- Attend Walk-for-Life every January 22nd at our state capital.
Volunteer Counselor Job Description
Competent volunteers allow us to increase our services and availability as well as make use of professional and learned experiences. The responsibilities’ of the volunteer counselor will grow with time and experience.
The Volunteer Counselor Responsibilities:
- Complete Volunteer Interview process with the Director.
- Read and sign the Commitment to Care and Confidentiality statements.
- Learns the front desk procedures for client services, answer phone and make appointments.
- Attend the TLC lay counselor’s training (provided quarterly). Provide a copy of your certificate of attendance to be kept with your personal file. Attend ongoing training once a year.
- Complete Pregnancy Choices the checklist for Counselors.
- Complete client intake and file appropriately. Do appropriate follow up calls.
- Use quiet time at the Center to learn to serve better, reading and watching videos and processing client services with peer counselors or director.
- Sign in Volunteer Book, pray and read weekly updates in the Counselor Book.
- Ascribe to and keep the Total LifeCare policies on confidentiality and family planning.
- Counselors will have evaluations with the Director twice a year.
- Is trained to open and close the center and holds a key.
- Pray for and support Pregnancy Choices LifeCare Center.

Student Advocate for Pregnancy Choices LifeCare Center
Job Description
The volunteer student advocate takes our mission to school and encourages their peers to make use of our services whenever it would be helpful.
The Student Advocate will serve in the following ways:
- Fill out the volunteer form and visit with the director.
- Have brochures and or business cards available for hand out.
- Know our website and refer to it, wwwmypregnancychoices.com
- Know how give directions to the Center.
- Speaks only facts they know are true and refer to the Center for help and resources.
- Treats friends needs with mature attitude and keeps confidential her needs.
- Models chastity in personal behavior and dresses appropriately.
Client Advocates are welcome to bring their friends to the Center to show them how they also can volunteer. Client advocates are welcome to come to Board meetings and can do fund or friend raisers on behalf or the Center. The director and board president should be notified if you plan to attend a Board meeting.
Advocates will visit with the Director every six months.
Volunteer Board of Directors
Board Members serve for a minimum of two years and ascribe to and support our mission statement. Board members are expected to support
Pregnancy Choices LifeCare Center in the following ways:
- Financial
- Spiritual
- Time commitment
- Active participation in fundraising and promotion
Our board members take on special responsibilities for the success of our
overall mission. Some focus on website development, financial management, strategic planning, and grant procurement etc.
All board members are “hands on” as a working board of directors and
take on new responsibilities as needs arrive.
Volunteer Receptionist Job Description
This position is very important because the client’s first impression is
set by the person that greets her or him. It is important to keep our mission
statement always as our base line for service.
Responsibilities are:
- Welcome clients and assess their needs. Give a Scope of Service form to all clients.
- The written procedures on the front desk are simple and should be followed as closely as possible to assure consistent care of our clients.
- The receptionist should be familiar with the Referral Book, videos, CDs and written materials in order to help the client learn more.
- The receptionist assures the client she is welcome and that she will be served competently.
- Answer phones and schedule appointments. Mails the Crib Incentive forms to those requesting them that live in our service area meeting the criteria.
- Receptionists are welcome to attend the TLC functions and trainings.
- Receptionist signs the Confidentiality and Commitment of Care statements and initials them every six months.
- Receptionist are asked to help with Thank You notes, the general order of the office, mailings, spiritual encouragement and practical projects that keep our ministry going.
- This position is evaluated every six to nine months.
- Ascribes to Total LifeCare Centers policies on confidentiality and family planning.
- Prays for and supports the ministry.
